Ferryman's Tavern, which opened in 1989, was the first tenant in the Waterfront and is still run by the original owners. It has established, over the years, a loyal following of regulars, both from Cape Town and further afield.
The two sheds constructed of quarried bluestone, Oregon beams and solid teak pillars were converted with great care to ensure that Ferryman's retained many of the features of the original buildings.
The old fashioned bar, brick-paved floor and stone fireplace enhance the character of the establishment to create a superb pub atmosphere. The upstairs non-smoking restaurant with its wooden tables and bentwood chairs add a touch of old fashioned charm. The large feature window has splendid views of Table Mountain.
