The South African Cricketers' Association provides the players who are its members with various benefits which include the following:
The application of a regulated professional cricket environment through the Player Memorandum Of Understanding ( MOU ) which deals with player contracts, remuneration and optimum use of player resources.
The MOU allows for player stakeholder participation in professional cricket including a share in cricket revenue model.
SACA protects and exploits the players' commercial value in its role as the commercial manager of the players' trusts.
The personal development of a professional cricketer is an area where SACA will become increasingly involved with. The formation of a Player Welfare Program is under way, and will deal with player related topics such as anti-doping, education, and alternate career guidance.
SACA represents players on national and international governing boards. This allows SACA to act as the players' voice on various cricket related matters such as playing rules and regulations, commercial arrangements and tour schedules.
